H,
There is nothing more
important than the act of loving others, here on earth. It flows from our own
awareness on how God loves us and it goes back to that height when we do it
properly.
There is no religion, no
faith, no scripture, no crusade, no mission, no calling, no purpose and no
kingdom of God without love. It is the epitome of obedience and the real depth
of the human soul. People are not deep because they know things or even
practise what they know. Eternal depth is character, being deep is learning to
love.
There is no word or war
against it. No warrior spirit more fierce and nothing more able to change the
trajectory of the human heart and life. If we did nothing but love we would be
complete. If we did everything but love we would be useless.
This does not make it a weak
thing. No one who is fainthearted or cowardly can climb this wall. It is a
stark thing to even do the most basic things in love like treat others as we
would want to be treated. We come from a place where we always feel like the
victim. We see things through the myopia of our own selfish definitions of good
and bad, hero and villain. To apply that same definition to the well-being of
others and to cast ourselves in the role of expendable for their own good is
the crucial first step none of us can truly take.
Love is first relationship,
vulnerability and humility before good.
