H,
It goes back to that overarching
theme we have been going on about all week: there is nothing harder than giving
up to God. There is nothing also, that comes more naturally. Once you go by the
first door that is. It is one of those things that seems lumbered down in
effort, ironically. We think we have to be conscious about it. We think it has
to be established in thoughts and published in acts. It is altogether something
other.
It is one of those things in
which a first step is all that is needed. That first step is one of faith. You have
to actually believe that there is value in the narrow road. It is told to you
and you are led along many rivers but the choice to dunk your head into these eternal
waters is still up to you. Now, after saying that I am not sure it is that
simple. No two people have the same experience with this and there are layers
of subtlety and depth no present mind can comprehend. Like with all things, we
see in part and we prophesy in part but the love of God makes us complete.

It is His love,
ultimately, that makes first steps to eternal walks possible
