H,
I cannot even begin to
quantify the depth of your friendship to me. It has been the high-point of the
communal life to share the burden of living with a like soul. Now, we cannot
live on like souls alone. There are no cliques in God and we are just as likely
to be a hindrance, if we make this religion, than a help, if we let it be love.
I keep thinking about that
fine line. It is not good to be alone because it poisons the human heart with
the idea that it is always right or, worse still, that it is always wrong. We need
the intermingling of selves to discover how far off the mark we really are. In the
best sense, we encourage each other with each new discovery of wrong. We are
not here to correct behavior, withhold grace or shepherd each other into the mono-syncretic life style. We are here to give grace and to love.
We have come together to
share in the divine nature and, as Christ said to us, to feed on the holy life.
We are to be made whole. We are a community of the light. We are not all the
same. This is fine.
When we are all together with Him,
we will be one.
