It seems like a strange thing to say, and for many it will be impossible because of the circumstances they live in, but: be at peace. There is no final story. We are not made for immediate gain. There is a fair amount of bad dreams receding in everything and our hope is certainly not in the things that can presently be seen.
Peace, inside, does not mean folding up the great fire or the great tent that wants everyone to be better and then well. It means we are not living in the great smog of nihilism that this world presents as truth. We are at peace with something else: the other and superior thread that says matter exists, but it is not all that exists. We are at peace with the idea that we are made for more and that more is also made for us. We cannot imagine what eternity means in full, but we know will live in it, and that is where the real living is. For now, we practice peace.
