Know this: this world is a distraction and all that is in it is temporary. All eras will come to an end. All kingdoms and empires will fall. This world will give way to a new, everlasting world that is without the sins and suffering of this our present time.
So nothing that you hold of importance here and now means anything in comparison to your soul. The real prize is eternity with the divine. Is your heart focused on your own desires and this fleeting plane? Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
The path you walk on this earth should only have one purpose and everything you do on that path must lead only to one destination: God. So much of this world is temporary, even to us who only exist for a breath of time. How much more to the one who conceived of its vast expanse. You cannot give over your soul, your final resting place with God, eternity with your heavenly father, for things that have no eternal value and bring no lasting joy.
Remember that who you are at your core is eternal. Remember that the temporary pleasures of life are nothing compared to the grandiose of eternity. Keep the faith. Walk the path. And may God be with you as you go. Amen.
