Everybody gets tired. I know it happens to you too. When there is work to be done, big or small, sometimes you mind and body just give out. It’s a long life we get to live.
Sometimes it happens right at the beginning of a task. You’ve looked ahead at all the hurdles you will need to scale to complete the task and you are already overwhelmed. You think, surely there is no way to complete this work in the time I have been given.
Sometimes there is no timeframe. There is just the job ahead of you and the inevitability of doing it and you think to yourself, will this never end? Am I to spend my whole life revisiting this singular task over and over again?
There are times when you feel like you’ve given all you can to the job before you and have nothing left to give. Yet it looks incomplete. You’re physically, mentally, and emotionally wiped out but you know there is still more to be done.
It isn’t that weariness is unique to you or anyone person. It is the surpassing it that is key, moving past an exhaustion that is often soul deep to complete the task at hand. No matter what it is that you are doing, no matter the thing that has dragged you down so much with its weight, know that you weariness is not yours alone to carry. Rest in THE ONE who is waiting for your complete surrender. His yoke is much easier to bear than the one found in the world; His burden much lighter.
