Political Fiction

An Unnecessary Note About Necessary Fiction I feel I must state, for clarity and other things, though the legal language has asserted this in the verso (new word I am giddy about), and though it is the nature of things like this, and though this is a novel, I have to overexplain again this simple and irrefutable truth: this is completely a work of fiction and any similarities to any circumstances or people or names (except the name of friends or “friends” I used in some form for pure fun) or events (except where I “borrowed” from history) are purely coincidental or incidental to the fictional world in which they exist. I must also add that this is not in any form based on any experiences I have had in my very tiny role as a political appointee and in public service. My “years of service” were 2019-2023, this book takes place from 2011-2012. I did not so much use my very sketchy knowledge of the Presidency and our little corner of it than make up stuff for, yes again, pure fun. This is not a textbook. It is not an expose. It is not a memoir. There is no hidden knowledge of how government works or should work. It wears a progressive heart (not that party), but it does this based on principles of the centre-left paradigm, or a little deeper left to be honest, not as a means of instruction. All else is fun.
